LIURP

Weatherization Program

Low Income Usage Reduction Program (LIURP) provides energy saving improvements to qualifying households to help reduce their utility bills and/or usage.

Program Benefits:

  • No cost to qualifying UGI customers
  • Reduces energy bills
  • Makes your home more comfortable
  • Makes your home a safer living environment
  • Warmer home during the heating season
  • Cooler home during the summer

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the LIURP program, participants must have:

  • An active UGI residential gas heating or electric account
  • 12 consecutive billing periods
  • Higher than average gas or electric usage within the past 12 months
  • Gross Annual Income guidelines:
    • UGI Gas customer’s gross annual income within 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
    • UGI Electric customer’s gross annual income within 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL); in special cases, Electric customers may qualify up to 200% of the FPL
  • If renting, written permission from the landlord to proceed

What happens if you are approved?

  1. Your community-based organization will contact you to set up an appointment
  2. An in-home energy usage evaluation is performed by a certified contractor
  3. Our contractors will visit your home to educate you on energy conservation
  4. Your home will be safer and more energy efficient!

After the Home Energy Evaluation, the following conservation services and/or equipment may include:

  • Insulation
  • Air sealing
  • Heating system repairs
  • Furnace clean, tune, and safety inspection
  • Door and window caulking and weather stripping
  • Carbon monoxide and smoke alarms
  • Possible refrigerator repair or replacement (Electric customers only)
